Is Plant-Based Iron a Good Source?
VitaHolistics™ VitaIron is a highly bioavailable form of non-heme iron that is plant-based as a concentrated form of non-GMO, organic certified curry leaf extract (Murraya koenigii) that contains 18 mg of iron per serving. Curry leaf extract has been scientifically demonstrated to be effectively absorbed, metabolized, and stored in the body due to the active iron phytocompounds.(1) This helps the body by supporting iron levels in the blood.
The phytochemical (plant chemical) structure of plant-sourced iron is well documented as being a part of the cytochrome B structure embedded in cell membranes. This is where iron protoporphyrin is found, and it also contains the bodily storage form of ferritin.
Synthetic forms of iron, such as ferrous sulfate, can cause nausea and constipation, while VitaIron is gentle on the digestive system. Standard iron supplements often contain fillers and binders, but with VitaIron you get only clean, natural, gluten-free, soy-free iron that is 100% synthetic free.
A study published in 2011 by Greilberger found that iron consumed from curry leaf extract offered a 20% higher rate of bioavailability when they looked at iron circulating in the blood compared to a traditional iron gluconate supplement. (1)
Additional studies (2, 3) proved that plant-sourced iron has the ability to structurally remain intact when it is absorbed. This is called protein nanocage, which is sometimes mimicked in synthetic drug delivery systems, yet found in nature it is the premier delivery system. The slower rate of absorption of plant-sourced iron from curry leaf allows for more effective use by the body.
The plant-sourced iron from organic curry leaf extract from VitaIron is precisely standardized and accurately processed to make certain that the iron remains in its most bioavailable. The complete ferritin molecule found in VitaIron allows the body to easily recognize the iron and then metabolize it and properly absorb it into the body as a whole.*
Some users of long-term iron supplements such as iron (ferrous) gluconate – a synthetic iron salt – may experience unwanted side effects and oxidative stress such as constipation or diarrhea, stomach pains with nausea and/or vomiting, a loss of appetite, and some users experience the staining of the teeth and even tongue. (4) Iron from curry leaf extract shows the ability for consumers to use this form of iron as a safe, long-term alternative.
The use of whole-plant supplementation not only allows or a much higher bioavailability rate, but also causes a significant reduction of premature oxidation that often happens with iron gluconate or ferric sulphate. Whole-plant supplements offer a synergistic broad-spectrum profile that is not obtained when you use their synthetic isolated counterpart.
Consider an apple. The apple has been studied to have over 400 phytonutrients (also known as phytochemical). Some of these nutrients are vitamin c, potassium, quercetin, catechin, phloridzin and chlorogenic acid, all of which are strong antioxidants. (5, 6) Apples contain around 8 mg of bioavailable synergistic vitamin C. This is about 14% of your daily needs.
Scientists have promoted in the idea that if vitamin C is beneficial for us, then why not isolate this vitamin and give it to us in patented and marketable high doses. When you consume an apple, you get the synergy of all the phytonutrients working together as a whole. When you consume isolated vitamins, your body does not know exactly what to do with them, so you need higher doses of which most get flushed down the toilet. Also, consider the simple fact that there is higher profitability in selling low-cost isolated vitamins over whole-plant based nutrition. Additionally, you cannot patent an apple.
VitaIron is the new standard in whole-plant-sourced iron supplementation!
CELLULAR RESONANCE
German biophysicist, Dr. Fritz-Albert Popp of the University of Kaiserslautern researched and developed the study of biophotons. He demonstrated that every cell in the body has an ideal cellular resonance.
Cellular resonance is an area of study that recognizes that all living organisms contain vibrational patterns that emit a frequency. These vibrational frequencies can impact each other synergistically in a way that is helpful and supportive.
Nutritional supplements from VitaHolistics™ are developed with cellular resonance in mind. They are designed to support your body by matching a healthy cellular resonance. This allows the cells to absorb both the nutrients and the resonant frequencies which allows the cells to function at its best.*
COACTIVE
VitaIRON is synergistically coactive by design. This means it is compatible with any other cellular resonant supplements. When you need extra support, consider using VitaIRON along with a plant-based vitamin C and also a B complex and a mineral complex. These can help to support optimal nutritional foundations in your body.*
GOOD FOUNDATIONS
It is important to consider adopting healthful lifestyle habits to support your body’s ability to adapt to stressors, fight off pathogens, and support free radical absorption. Good foundations are areas such as nutrition, hydration, sleep, stress, exercise, breath-work, sunshine, spirituality, and your social behaviors all play an important part in your overall physical, mental, and emotional health and wellbeing.
USP CERTIFIED
VitaHolistics™ is honored and proud to be one of very few companies that is given the USP certification. This is a highly coveted certification through independent USP certifiers. The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) sets the standards for compounding, biologics, pharmaceutical manufacturing. The USP certification has only been awarded to a handful of supplement manufacturing companies in the United States. You can trust that VitaHolistic™ uses the most stringent manufacturing and quality systems that results in the most trustworthy and effective products available on the market.
